Kinja'd!!!

lots of miles and no warning lights! How?

It turned all 2's for a minute today! Wish I’d had the forethought to reset the trip at 222,000 so it would’ve been all 2's across the top, but then I’d have had to drive straight up to northern Canadia or somewhere it’s 22 degrees out.

Also notable is the complete absence of any warning lights... an ominous sign. Not long after this incident the right front directional headlamp wire that had been barely hanging on for ages decided to sever itself meaning it now no longer works with the switch in ‘on’ instead of ‘auto’ like it had for most of last year.

I also spotted a nice 427  cobra (or more likely a replica), sorry for the potato pic:

Now it’s off to see if I can replace that little wiring harness inside the headlamp assembly, or if that fails, learn how to solder again. I do n’t see plan B working out well though :(

Snake Eyes!  That means all your window regulators will spontaneously combust into pools of cheap plastic.

I haven’t had any trouble with them yet somehow, maybe the previous owner already did them for me? The passenger side window switch is threatening to pop out every time I lift the window back up though.

It’s more of an E46 thing. But most of the E46 owners will have issues. I’m 4-for-four and I have a buddy that’s 3-for-four.

But, my E34 is rock solid after 175,000 miles

Maybe the coupe regulators are different than the sedans? Maybe I’m living on borrowed time? Probably!

I used to think it was just me until I talked to a BMW Salvage specialist in Van Nuys once about it...  The E46 window regulators are a legend.
